Born 1950, in Ergisch Wallis, Switzerland
In all of her abstract paintings, Lisa's quest for meaning
visibly reflect lavish colors combined in patterns of energetic
surreal shapes. The observer enters Lisa's inner-world of
self-discovery portrayed in her creations, which reflect her
unconscious mind. It's as if she's floating in a wide free-form
spectrum without any boundaries, limitations or constraints.
On her world travels through her life's journey as a single
liberated woman, she suffered a mid-life crisis. Lisa awoke
from a dream feeling the need to paint as a form of therapy.
She found consolation mixing colors and experimenting with
different forms of self-expression. Starting with batik art,
she progressed and developed her own unique techniques of
acrylic on cloth. Lisa comments on her work. "My
subconscious overtakes me and completes the painting. I just
remain the tool."
In this context, the artist's statement "my art is universal"
becomes comprehensible and we understand that her artistic
work cannot be classified under any one category. The pictures
of Lisa Eggs are a journey from I to you. For the spectator,
they are at the same time milestones and declarations of love
in color and form.
Lisa
says, " I just love spreading color and painting."
